1. National Agriculture Market portal eNAM (e-National Agriculture Markrt) was launched in 15th April 2016 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

2. It is a pan-india e-trading platform designed to create a unified national market for agricultural commodities.

3. In this portal farmers can showcase their produce online from their nearest market and traders can quote price from anywhere. It will result in incresed numbers of traders and generate competition. It will also ensure a good open price and better returns for farmers.

4. The eNAM platform currently lists 23 commodities and integrates 21 agricultural markets across eight Indian states. It plans to include over 400 markets by next March, and 585 markets across India by March 2018.

5. To integrate a wholesale market across the country with the online platform, the state government have to amend their Agriculture Produce Market Committee Act.
