Kerala PSC Degree Level Questions - 34 (Constitution)

456. Part III of the constitution deals with Fundamental Rights.
457. India borrowed the concept of Fundamental Rights from United States of America.
458. Article 12 to 35 of the constitution deals with Fundamental Rights.
459. The power to impose reasonable restrictions of Fundamental Rights vested with The President.
460. Article 14 to 18 of the constitution deals with Right to Equality.
461. Article 15 says that there is 'No Discrimination on Ground of Religion, Race, Caste, Sex, Place of Birth or any of them'.
462. Article 16 guarantees Right to Equality of opportunities in Public Department.
463. As per Fundamental Rights the Government can make special provisions for Women and Children against exploitation.
464. Abolition of Untouchability is deals under Article 17.
465. Article 18 of the constitution describes about abolition of titles.
466. Article 14 guarantees equality before law and equal protection of law.
467. Judiciary is known as guardian of Fundamental Rights.
468. The objective behind Fundamental Rights under the constitution is to ensure individual liberty.
469. The Fundamental Rights can be partialy suspended during the proclamation of National Emergency.
470. Article 31 (Right to Property) was omitted from Fundamental Rights by the 25th amendment of the constitution.
471. The right that cannot be suspended during the proclamation of National Emergency is right to Life.
472. Article 352  says right to life cannot be suspended during the emergency is in operational.
473. The 86th amendment made Right to Education a Fundamental Right.
474. Right to equality includes five types of rights.

475. The six types of Fundamental Freedoms guaranteed by the constitution :-
  • Freedom of Speech and Expression
  • To assemble peaceably and without arms.
  • To form associations or unions.
  • To move freely throughout the territory of India
  • To reside and settle any parts of the territory of India.
  • To pratice any profession or to carry on any occupation, trade or business.
